San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants is a baseball team that was established back in 1883. The Giants are the oldest baseball team and they are the current World Series Champions. The recent coach is Bruce Bochy. The pitchers for Giants are Tim Lincecum, Brian Wilson, Matt Cain, Sergio Romo, Jeremy Affeldt, Madison Bumgarner, Javier Lopez, Guillermo Mota, Ramon Ramirez, Dan Runzler, Jonathan Sanchez, and Ryan Vogelsong. The catchers are Buster Posey and Eli Whiteside. The infielders are Emmanuel Burriss, Mike Fontenot, Aubrey Huff, Ryan Rohlinger, Freddy Sanchez, and Miguel Tejada. The outfielders are Pat Burrell, Darren Ford, Cody Ross, Aaron Rowand, and Nate Schierholtz. The team colors are black and orange. Back in 1885 the Giants used to play for New York and were called the New York Giants. The Giants have won the most games than any other Northern American professional sport. They have won 6 World Series Championships and were tied for second in the National League with the Los Angeles Dodgers. When the San Francisco Giants were playing for New York they played at the Polo Grounds in Manhattan until it closed in 1957 and the Giants moved to West to California to become the San Francisco Giants. As the New York Giants they won fourteen pennants and five World Championship when Bobby Thomson and Willie Mays were on the team. The Giants have won four pennants and the 2010 World Series Championships since playing for San Francisco. The Giants were founded by millionare tobacconist John B. Day and baseball player Jim Mutrie. It is said that after one particularly satisfying victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, Mutrie (who was also the team's manager) stormed into the dressing room and exclaimed, "My big fellows! My giants!" From then on, the club was known as the Giants.
